Referal Pathway
At Soothing Care Clinic, we require a referral from a GP to initiate the process. The referral helps us gather essential information to ensure our services align with the patient’s needs.
Information to Include in the Referral
To help us assess the suitability of our expertise for the patient, the GP referral should ideally include:
• A brief explanation of the patient’s background history.
• Details of current difficulties and challenges.
• The purpose of the referral, including goals and hopes for psychiatry care.
Fees and Costs
Please note that consultations at Soothing Care Clinic are privately billed, and fees are not fully covered by Medicare. Specific charges and rebate options can be discussed at the time of booking.
Process and Timeframe
Once the referral is received, we carefully review the provided information to evaluate the suitability of our services. Based on this, we aim to respond within 3-6 weeks to discuss availability and next steps.
Reports
Following the consultation, reports can be shared with both the patient and their referring GP, ensuring a collaborative approach to care.
Important Notes
• We do not accept referrals for Workers’ Compensation cases or court-related reports.
• Referrals for adult ADHD assessments are also not accepted.
